Categories of Members and Procedure

There are currently 5 categories of members based on agreements reached at the First Meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Governance (PANCAP) held on the 21st & 22nd August 2007 in Barbados and endorsed by the AGM later in 2007.

The categories of members of PANCAP are as follows:

  1. All Caribbean Community Member States;
  2. All other countries of the Pan-Caribbean region (Dominican Republic, British and Dutch OCTs, FDA, Cuba, United States territories - Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands);
  3. Duly registered regional institutions/organizations within the Pan-Caribbean region - academic, professional, technical, faith-based, civil society, community-based, private sector which have demonstrated evidence of working to reduce HIV and AIDS and whose mission contribute to the goals of PANCAP;
  4. Bilateral and multilateral agencies that maintain a presence in the Pan-Caribbean region and which provide technical and financial support to national and regional programmes related to HIV and AIDS.
  5. Public or private sector extra-regional organisations with significant and demonstrable connection to HIV and AIDS-related activities in the Pan-Caribbean Region.

CATEGORY

PROCEDURES

1. All Caribbean Community Member States

Shall automatically be members of PANCAP by virtue of the fact that the Caribbean Partnership Commitment is a duly approved instrument of CARICOM.

2. All other countries

Required to submit the duly signed Statement of Commitment.

3. Duly registered regional institutions / organizations within the Pan-Caribbean Region – academic professional, technical, faith-based, civil society, community-based, private sector, which have demonstrated evidence of working to reduce HIV and AIDS and whose missions contribute to the goals of PANCAP

Required to submit:

i  An expression of interest,

ii  Proof of registration

iii  Evidence of work in the field of HIV and AIDS.

Upon approval by the RCM they will be required to submit a duly signed statement of commitment

4. Bilateral and multilateral agencies that maintain a presence in the Pan-Caribbean Region and which provide technical and financial support to national and regional programmes related to HIV and AIDS. Learn more
