T he National HIV/AIDS Commission (NHAC) was established to co-ordinate
a multi-sectoral approach designed to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

The National Programme strives to reduce the social and economic impact
of HIV and AIDS on individuals, communities, and ultimately on the development
of the country. The overall goal is to reduce the rate of increase in
HIV infection and the development of AIDS.

National HIV/STI Control Programme
The National Programme is geared at the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS
and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It advocates for and
coordinates the input of all sectors of the Jamaican society, including
the private and public sectors and non-government organisations (NGOs).

Counselling Services
LCS works to reduce the psychosocial impact of HIV & AIDS on persons
living with of affected by the disease, through counselling and education.
PHIVA
(Publicity project for HIV/AIDS)
PHIVA is a campaign to protect people from acquiring HIV/AIDS, and ensure
that those already infected remain healthy, active and contributing
members of society with access to drugs that will save their lives.

The World AIDS Campaign has been established to strengthen and connect

agency or civil society the aim is to create a unified voice on the
need to take the action necessary to scale up the response to HIV.
